Hearthstone’s $20 million monthly revenue surpasses Dota 2

According to SuperData Hearthstone now earns Blizzard 20 million in revenue each month. The digital card game has surpassed the wildly popular Dota 2, which earns Valve about $18 million a month.

Hearthstone has seen significant userbase growth, thanks in large part to recent releases on mobile platforms like IOS and Android. As Blizzard’s first free to play game, Hearthstone’s growth is an encouraging success and also marks the first time the company has embraced mobile gaming. Blizzard has also provided a steady amount of content updates to keep players hooked.

The Grand Tournament, Hearthstone’s next expansion, is due out at the end of the month and will introduce new game mechanics and 132 new cards.
