Bethesda Conference E3 break down!

Bethesda hosted its first ever E3 press conference this year. They have a long history with a strong catalog. And this year they have a lot to show and say. Gotta say I was pleased with what I saw! Bethesda started with some big freakin guns….DOOM. The reveal was met with a TON of enthusiasm by the crowd. I will say this….the gameplay looked like a lot of fun, but it didn’t seem as fast as advertised. That could very well have been because it was being streamed, so only time will tell. What was shown appears to be an early part of the game, as well as the latter levels which take place in hell. It seems like a reboot in every possible way. A map and content creator were also revealed. I though it all looked pretty fleshed out, so it should be interesting to see what people come up with!doom-2015

Next Bethesda followed up by talking about their new network they will use with their games going forward, Bethesda.net. Bethesda.net is going to be a one stop shop for forums, videos, alongside  access to its versatile library. This was a direct lead into Battle Cry, where they announced that you can sign up for a world-wide beta.  A trailer that revealed several new classes for the game was also shown introducing a new faction known as the Han Republic. Battle Cry certainly seems like a game with a lot of very diverse play styles. I’ve signed up for the beta, hopefully we can get access!

A trailer showing off a similar world with a very stylish new protagnist chasing after her assassination target. The protagonist used some kind of hookshot made of vines to propel her to areas quickly and negate falls, as well as destroying automated sentinels, and executing her target with supernatural powers….then the trailer fades away to the Dishonored 2 logo. I’ve been waiting a proper sequel because the first game was so good, so they have my money for sure! They have only revealed that the game will be available on PC and current gen consoles, no release date as of yet. A re-release of the original with upgraded visuals and all of the downloadable content will be available in Dishonored the Definitive Edition which be available for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It will be available this fall.

We then pan over to The Elder Scrolls Online. A series of new content was revealed that showed of a ton of new elder-scrolls-onlinelocations with some really beautiful environments, new mounts (armored bear mounts for the win!) and a sizable chunk of new enemies to conquer. I may have to snag a copy if the rest of the game looks this good. A new digital card game, The Elder Scrolls Legends was also revealed, probably Bethesda’s answer to Hearthstone, the popular game by Blizzard. The game will be free on PC and the Apple Ipad.

The final piece in Bethesda’s feast is the incredibly meaty Fallout 4. Rolling out first with a series of concept art, the game then moves in to show what could be one of the best character creation tools in games. The option to play as either male, female, and basically any ethnicity is awesome in itself. When they told us they would create a baby based on how you make your loving couple I lost my composure for a bit from sheer laughter. This game is going to be a doozy. They showed off dynamic conversations as well as what you can do with your canine companion should you choose to take one. I won’t spoil anything further, but I will say this game has me more excited than when it was first announced make no mistake.

Another huge bomb they dropped was the limited edition of Fallout 4, the Pip Boy Edition. It will contain a wrist bound item, the pipboy itself that ACTUALLY directly interacts with the game! I can get behind a peripheral like that. Bethesda opened up E3 on a huge note, let’s see what Microsoft has to offer us this morning! George will have the low down on Microsoft’s conference!

Maximillian Signing off!
