Crunchyroll Crowns Anime Awards 2021 Winners

Crunchyroll, the world’s most popular anime brand, announced the winners from the fifth annual Anime Awards, a celebration of the best and brightest in Japanese animation from last year. Crunchyroll recently announced that the global brand surpassed four million subscribers and 100 million registered users, just six months after breaking the three million subscriber mark. 

With more than 15 million votes cast around the world, Crunchyroll named anime’s best at the fifth annual Anime Awards  on Friday with popular horror-action series “JUJUTSU KAISEN” taking the crown for Anime of the Year and the critically-acclaimed “Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!” awarded best animation among many other stellar series.

Jujutsu Kaisen was declared Anime of the Year at the Crunchyroll Awards

This year, 15 million global votes were cast across 18 categories from fans celebrating their favorite characters, series, and creators, eclipsing the 11 million votes cast in 2020. The top three countries that voted this year were the United States, Brazil, and Mexico. Winners were announced during a virtual event hosted by Tim Lyu and Crunchyroll’s beloved princess, Crunchyroll-Hime! The show will also be available to watch on Crunchyroll on-demand.
