Oni Press may be small but boy is it mighty. Working on their projects for them (and among my personal favorites) is Joshua Hale Fialkov.  His intuition and skill for storytelling really draws the reader in, capturing their imagination  in ways that most only dream about.  While concocting many tales orbiting the same genre of  suspense thrillers, they are all remarkably unique and diverse. With an ever-increasing stack of books to read, when one resonates with you it gives birth to a rare moment. The Bunker is a true testament to a well written introduction to a new ongoing series.

Five friends are having one last hurrah after graduating college and decide to make a time capsule leaving behind a memory before they all go their separate ways.   However, much like reality, things have a habit of not going as planned. Instead of burying their memories they find a bunker with only four of the five names on it.theBunker1 inside

Naturally once inside the bunker, they find letters addressed to themselves that appear to come from their future selves.  And that is just the beginning!  Most would agree it is a wildly common dream to find something from their future selves outlining events that have not yet occurred.  Would you believe your own handwriting when you see it or resolutely denounce it as a hoax and leave?

This extra sized debut issue could be aptly named a psychological playground but does not leave out sheer enjoyment.  With some incredible artwork to match the mood and passion behind this graphic novel, you get the entire sensation of something magnificent playing out before your very eyes.
