Angered by the failure of Face going off, Franmalth attempts to exact his frustration upon Lucy, Natsu, and Happy. In another part of the Tartaros’ base, Erza is left to fight one on one with the newly transformed Neo Minerva, who has yet to unveil her new demonic curse powers. I really wonder what kind of curse she may have and will it be enough to even over power Erza? I really can’t get enough of her new demon form though. We cut back to Franmalth about to absorb the three Fairy Tail member’s souls. I will admit Franmalth’s faces are very amusing as he goes through a range of emotions. As he tries to absorb his opponents, they strengthen their resolve to not let their souls go by thinking of the most important things in their hearts. In a stroke of luck, Lucy stumbles upon something to distract Franmalth from absorbing her and her teammates. Natsu uses this opportunity to overpower the enemy and pulverize the life out of him. As all the absorbed souls escaped out from Franmalth’s broken body, the second Fairy Tail master Hades, appears and whispers a dire warning about the state that the magic world is heading in.
Back at he rebirth chambers Mirajane seems to still be facing off against Sayla, and evenly matched at that. Sayla reveals that her curse allows her to control people and while she is bewildered about why it doesn’t affect her, Sayla taunts the older sister that she can still cause Elfman to hurt himself. Ezel, who was defeated by Wendy, and Franmalth are awaiting Lamy to complete their rebirth. Fortunately, Mirajane destroys the all the incubation chambers using her Takeover magic. Because the curse and the magic have similar properties, they negate each other. Both women decide to release themselves to be able to be at their fullest potential to deal brute damage. Sayla’s unhindered strength completely overwhelms Mirajane. As the one-sided fight continues, Mirajane recalls the Strauss siblings’ past and how she came to accept her magical power of Takeover and joining Fairy Tail. Remembering her close ties with her family, she desperately tries to find some way to counter her foe. She finds a opening by not trying to control Sayla, but by finding a way to control the power Sayla has. This makes for a very surprising ending to the struggle between the two as another contender ends the fight!
Kyouka reports the status of Tartaros’ failing mission to the guild master, Marde Guille. Even though she seems to be panicked about the situation he simply brushes it off as a minor event in their master plan. He chastises Kyouka for not killing humans. Meanwhile, Fairy Tail member communicate with each other about the state of events thus far. Their celebrating is cut short by Marde Guille interrupting and releasing Alegria to absorb them into becoming part of the Tartaros cube.Every single one of the Fairy Tail guild is sucked into the monster cube save for one.
